The delicate taste of caviar has traditionally been enjoyed on its own. However, Caviar Blinis with a touch of Crème Fraîche will add to the experience without overwhelming the caviar.
Our French Caviar Blinis are almost two inches in diameter each and come in a pack of sixteen. Made from wheat flour, water and vegetable oils, Blinis have a dough-like taste similar to a crisp pancake. Once heated in the oven, grill, or toaster, the Blinis make for a perfect accompaniment for all types of caviar.
When preparing your blinis, it is best to heat them in an oven or a toaster for approximately 4-6 minutes (varies based on if the blinis are frozen or thawed out). Once the blinis begin to change into a golden crispy color, they are ready. Remove them and place it in a warm covered bowl or bread basket. Now here is where taste dictates, as many people enjoy placing the caviar atop the blini while it is still warm and eating it almost immediately - while others prefer to let the blini cool and then place caviar (and perhaps creme fraiche) atop the blini. With sixteen in a pack, there is plenty of room for experimentation, so be sure to try it both ways!
